As someone pointed out, George Carlin - who's done a lot worse in his career than this girl (the hitch hiker scene in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back alone is more than these - and more offensive, in my opinion) can be Mr Conductor.

Then we have Peter Yarrow, who, as part of Peter Paul & Mary is practically one of the Major Saints of the PBS pantheon:

...pleaded guilty to taking "immoral and improper liberties" with a 14-year-old girl back in 1970.

As reported at the time, the girl and her 17-year-old sister went to Yarrow's hotel room seeking an autograph. Yarrow answered the door naked and made sexual advances that stopped short of intercourse. The 14-year-old resisted his advances but did not call for help. Yarrow served three months of a one-to three-year prison sentence and was pardoned by Carter in 1981.

(PP&M had released an album of children't songs entitled Peter Paul and Mommy a year or so earlier, incidentally.)

What Yarrow did was not, in fact, particularly out of line by the standards of rock music of the day; the article quoted above wonders if we'd even have heard of it if it had been Mick Jagger, and points out that in New York, the same offense would have been a misdemeanour.

But Melina Martinez answers a cattle call audition (apparently fifty young actresses were ther) seven years ago, does two risque but hardly obscene or pornographic PSA satires and gets fired from her PBS job when it comes out.

Ah, the double standard crossed with Bush-era pressure on PBS.
